The Parable of the Seeking Mind

I have for the past 20 or so years been searching for answers as I felt a strong desire to do something that would make a glorious and positive impact, but I had no idea what that could possibly be. So I started on a journey of discovery going down so many paths to try and find out who I was and what I was capable of.

Before the marvellous invention of the internet and the opening up of the world it was more difficult to spend your money on books and self help courses etc. so I started off quite modestly but soon was able to search the world for techniques and inspirational tools. I was able to flit from one to another like a bee intent on absorbing as much pollen as possible.

I didn’t seem to be able to ever stick to anything. I purchased all these inspirational tools and never used them to the extent that they worked for me. Before I had a result I moved on and bought something else. I was flitting from one self help technique to another. Each time I saw something new that I got a buzz from I had to buy it. A lot of them are just hanging around in my cupboard untouched. Sometimes I listen or read and then I find that part of what is on offer feels wrong and I turn away from it.

So I asked
I am wasting too much money on all this stuff and I so want to move on and find answers. Is it because I am fickle?


Answer

Small one, dear to my heart, child of light, you worry too much and need to relax. If you surround yourself with the crystals and light of worry you will not allow in the brightness of clarity. The crystals bar its way and the light shines in your eyes and blinds you to the deeper meaning of wisdom and clarity.

I do not see you as fickle at all but as discerning. You are filtering your desires, beliefs and needs. How can you discover what will work for you if you do not taste what is on offer?

If you taste a dish that looks smells and initially tastes appealing you will buy it. If it is well packaged and attracts you, tempts you with possible delights you will indulge without thought of consequence because at the moment in time it is exactly what you need.

However you take the packaging and promises home with you and you begin to unwrap them. At first what was promised is indeed there and you are ecstatic and pleased that you made this decision to buy. On closer inspection you see that really it is not what you first thought and several essential components are missing and it no longer pleases you.


Tonight I will tell you a story.

Long, long ago there was a distant land filled with wonder and joy. Large dark forests held tall majestic trees, deep valleys filled with verdant grass, luscious and green. Meadows filled with flowers of vibrant hue, dancing in the gentle breezes that wafted over the valley. Abundant trickling streams meandering through gently sloping hills, rippling over shiny smooth pebbles, alive with teaming aquatic life.

Into this paradise came a young lad filled with hope and excitement for the adventures he would surely find in this new land. He walked for many days in the warm sunlit air, but never once did he see another person. Occasionally he spied in the distance, a colourful bird swooping and soaring in the bright blue sky. But he was still hopeful as he continued on his quest.

Days turned into weeks and weeks to months and still he continued, still never seeing another soul. He was becoming less excited, less enthusiastic and less filled with hope and joy. His paradise was slowly turning into a place of fear and terror.

He could not understand why even though he had travelled so far with so much effort, he had never been rewarded with the sight of another human being. He longed for the sight of another person, he longed for company, to talk and to exchange views, to expand and discover himself, to achieve his quest. He was lonely and lost, frightened and alone.

His journey began so courageously, so full of hope, now all his dreams were dashed and he sat and wept. Why had he left his home? Why did he seek adventure and new experiences? Why had he not been content with what he had? Why had he not looked for adventure at home? Why had he not found it more interesting in the safety of familiar surroundings?

He did not even know which way was home, he was totally lost and in despair.

He did not know how long he stayed in that spot, it could have been years. He was so deep in his own misery he did not see the changes around him.
He was so deep in his fear that he did not see the people walking towards him.
He was so full of self pity and remorse he did not see the gift of flowers placed at his feet.
He was so engrossed in his plight that he did not feel the gentle touch on his face as a kiss brushed his cheek.
And he was so intent on his suffering that the gentle call of the people around him went unheard.

What woke him he did not know, could it have been the breeze, or the sun on his face or a blade of grass moving in the breeze. But awake he was and he stood up fully alert, fully revived. He knew now what he must do, he must go on. He had left his home for a reason. It was such a strong urge to explore and expand and he had it now again.

So he picked up his bags and water jug and began his journey once again. This time with much more strength of purpose and determination and he sang as he journeyed onward. Up ahead not far in this distance the people waited to greet him.


Do you think this is you dear child giving up on your journey. No, we tell you this story to illustrate that you can inspire in any way you choose. You do not need techniques of others or your own. Inspiration and expansion and awakening come from the heart of a loving soul. You can do your job in any way you choose you have at your disposal any ability you wish, they are all yours.

Poetry, song, prose, comedy, drama, how do you wish to use it. Use them all.

You do have a route to your goal because you choose to use many. You chose not to stick to one path but to go down many. Do not think you have not been called to assist others and do not despair if what you are to do is not obvious to you now.

I am in no great hurry for you take your time and explore, allow yourself the time to find out what you want to do.

Allow yourself time to rest and play and there are majestic wisdoms to be had in play and rest.
